Photography has always been a passion of mine, as has tramping and being in the outdoors. Anytime I'm in the bush I have a camera with me. The image to the right was taken one morning many years ago high in the Tararuas from my tent door. It won a competition and was the inspiration for me to continue striving for those amazing images.
Having my own family gave me plenty of practice photographing children, and portrait photography is now a favorite pastime.
I never had any interest in shooting weddings until a friend convinced me to photograph her sisters wedding. It's a big step, that first wedding. I nervously turned up on the day and had an absolute ball. I was hooked! The image to the left is from that first wedding at Staglands in Upper Hutt. Since then I have 30+ weddings under my belt and I have loved every one of them.
Photography is my "other job", and has to fit in with being a Locomotive Engineer driving Wellingtons amazing Matangi electric units. With a family and two jobs I am limited to how many weddings and portrait sessions I can photograph, so best you get in nice and quick.
Left: ready for an expedition to Queenstown with photography gear up front and tramping gear in behind. Dobbie had to stay home unfortunately.
If you need any photography please give me a call. Thanks for reading this far.
